If you are interested in learning more about work health and safety, mental health and wellbeing, and best practice rehabilitation and return to work, you won’t want to miss the upcoming in-person and online events in Queensland this September and October.

Electrical Safety Week 2023: Week 4th – 8th September
Electrical Safety Week 2023 is a series of events for electrical industry leaders, workers, contractors, and apprentices. The week kicks off with the Electrical Safety Summit on Tuesday, 5 September at Victoria Golf Club in Brisbane, where you can hear from former Brisbane Lions captain Simon Black, Queensland’s Commissioner for Electrical Safety Keith McKenzie, Electrical Safety Office head Donna Heelan, and Ergon Energy’s Melinda Williams.
Electrical apprentices can also join in-person, or online, rugby league legend Johnathon Thurston for breakfast at Bracken Ridge TAFE on Wednesday, 6 September, and learn how to get the right start in your career and stay safe at work.
You can also register for the Electrical Industry Safety webinar on Thursday 7, September, where international speaker and author Anton Guinea will share his story of surviving an arc flash incident.

Work Well Conference 2023: Tuesday 17th October
The Work Well Conference 2023, will be held on Tuesday 17 October at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. The conference will feature a host of high-profile speakers, such as AI expert Dr Mark Van Rijmenam, Australia’s first female naval helicopter pilot Natalee Johnston, and human communications expert Anneli Blundell. The conference will cover topics such as artificial intelligence in safety, systems thinking, critical conversation management, psychosocial risks, good work design and safety capability.
